Exhausted!

Happy Wednesday everyone! I am so exhausted and it is only the middle of the week (oh dear). I have been so busy running back and forth between work, babysitting and riding. Today I did all of that and had a riding lesson, and it is all going to happen again tomorrow! It seems my vision is blurring as we speak, which means I think it is time for bed.  So with that being said sorry about the lame post, I am just too knackered.

I promise to post something better tomorrow! (Please don't hate me!) Are you guys as burnt out as I am?

Girls On HBO

Today is all about the show Girls! It premiered in April on HBO and recently the season just ended! I started watching this show based on the recommendation of another blogger. So after finishing the first season what is my final verdict? I AM HOOKED!

The Whole Gang

It is honestly one of the weirdest shows I have ever watched but something about it just works. The girls are hilarious and their stories are so original. This show is such a breath of fresh air, I could rave about it for days.

Hannah
Hannah is the aspiring writer of the group. She is SO funny and quirky. She is always getting herself into all kinds of weird situations. Honestly you can't help but love her, and the problems she faces are definitely some that I can relate to. Especially in the awkward department.

Marnie
Marnie is known as the uptight or responsible one. She is Hannah's roommate in NY or also known as her best friend. I love her partly because I share some of her type A personality traits. I also like her character because she has THE perfect boyfriend. Like if I was to conjure up a guy, it would be him!

Jessa
Jessa is the jet setter! She has traveled all over the world and is probably the most adventurous of the group. She is your go to party girl and is always out enjoying what life has to offer! I really like her character and she reminds me a lot of my best friend. (Like I said this show is so relatable!)

Shoshanna
Last but not least is Shoshanna. She is Jessa's cousin and attends NYU! Oh my goodness where do I even start with this girl. She is my favourite character on the show. It really is sad how much my life resembles hers. She is the bubbly one. Basically on a scale of 1 to 10, she is a 10 at.all.times. All of the hilarious mistakes that she makes combined with her awkwardness in social situations make her the funniest by far of the group. All of my friends that watch this show always tell me that I am her, and after watching it myself I couldn't agree more!

So that Girls! I'm sorry if the descriptions of each character aren't that deep, I just don't want to spoil anything (it is THAT good!) If you guys haven't already watched the show I would definitely give it a go! You won't be sorry and you will definitely get your fair share of laughs! Have any of you seen the show?

Ps: Like any show on HBO this was definitely created with the intent of reaching a more mature audience! There are not too many terribly racy scenes but it definitely is not for youngsters!

What's On Your Counter?

So yesterday as I was getting ready to go out I was struck by the sheer amount of beauty products that I have. I mean it's kind of insane and when you really take the time to stop and look the amount of products you have can surprise you. I think what happens is I go into stores like Sephora and Ulta and always leave with some new product to try. I seem to forget that my collection steadily increases every time I do that.  So then I thought why not share my crazy bathroom counter with my followers! Hopefully I am not alone in my product addiction!

Some of the goodies on my counter!

Item 1: Alright, so starting on the very left is my Clinique turnaround face mask! I bought this because I wanted to try something new! I love love love face masks (I think my addiction started when I was young). I always remember sitting in my mother's bathroom late at night, just watching her put on her weekly face mask before she went to bed! I seriously love this stuff! You start with a clean face and then apply! You leave it on for about five minutes or longer. I always forget that I have it on but no worries nothing will happen if you accidentally  leave it on for longer than suggested. Then when the time is up you simply scrub it off, and then voila your face is as good as new! I made all of my friends try it and they all say that it leaves their skin super soft! It's also great because your face has a shimmer to it once it's rinsed off!

Item 2: Next up is my Elizabeth Arden cleansing toner! I usually sweep this over my face in the morning, at night or both just depending on my mood! I really like it, and it is one of my favourite toners out there (and I have tried many). I like it because my face isn't terribly dry after I use it.

Item 3: In the front to the left is my Clinique dramatically different moisturizing gel. To be honest I usually just use this as a back up when I am out of my other lotion. I personally don't think that it hydrates my skin all that well so I am not a huge fan of it, but it definitely works in a pinch.

Item 4: Petroleum jelly is front and center! I usually just put some on my lips at night to keep them soft after I have brushed my teeth and such. Now I have tried everything from expensive 30 dollar lip balms to the cheap, regular ones like vaseline and I must say regular old vaseline works every time.

Item 5: Right next to my petroleum jelly is my Bobbi Brown make up remover. I can not say enough good things about it! I love it. It always removes all of my make up, it smells wonderful and leaves your skin feeling silky soft! You can even use it to just wash your face off! It gets the job done.

Item 6: On the far right is my Clinque liquid facial soap for oily skin. I like this facial soap a lot! I use it in the mornings because it is really gentle and doesn't aggravate my face and at night I use Murad's mild acne wash to keep blemishes away! I like how I can pump out the amount I want instead of having to flip off a cap. It makes my life so much easier!

Item 7: Last but not least is my baby pink Clarisonic Mia 2. I do not know where I would be without this thing. This year over spring break I went home and begged my mother to take me to Sephora so I could see what everyone was raving about. Thirty minutes later I walked out of the store with one and 2 weeks later my mother went back and bought one for herself. I personally chose the Mia 2 because I wanted the option of having two speeds instead of just one (which is what you would have if you buy the regular Mia).

**Not pictured is my Chi on the floor which I stood on to get this picture (whoops!)

So those are some of the beauty products sitting on my counter. I show you guys every item but we would be here for days! What are your favourite items? I am thinking of switching to Mario Badescu products. I've heard great things about that line, do you guys know anything about it?

Sunrise Cafe

Happy Monday everyone! How was your weekend! Hopefully you guys got out even if it was just for a little bit! I know I was dying to get out of the house! This weekend was definitely jam packed! I worked on Friday, ran some errands on Saturday and had dinner with my mother, cousin and her boyfriend on Sunday! It was so hot, but I wasn't about to let that stop me from wearing a cute outfit for the occasion! I wore my white Jcrew chinos with an eclair top that I got from Nordstrom! I paired it with my gucci watch and my gold bracelets. For shoes I wore my black Tory Burch sandals!

OOTD
I was so excited to see my cousin Tracy! I literally haven't seen her in almost 8 years. The last time I saw her was when I was moving to Switzerland! She had just graduated from NYU and came to help my family for the first couple of weeks since our nanny ended up getting deathly ill a week before we were supposed to leave! Gosh it's weird how much things have changed since then! She is now living in Sweden and working on her masters at University there! I am still surprised that she is staying there long enough to complete it. She loves to travel and is always moving every couple of years. She has lived all over; Uraguy, Australia, New Zealand, Maiyorca, Thailand etc. You name it she has either lived there or visited! I mean what can I say, we are an international family!

Downtown YS
Anyways we all met up at a restaurant in Yellow Springs called Sunrise Cafe. The food was so yummy! I wish I had taken a picture to share with you guys! I had pork chops with a peach sauce and mashed potatoes! It was to die for and I usually don't like pork so that's saying something!

Tractor Rides
Bonding with the baby goats

After dinner my mother and I left to get some ice cream from Young's Dairy! This ice cream place is the best. I have been going there ever since I can remember! Every time we came home to the States to visit, we would always drive up there and get ice cream.
Alright it's official I want a baby goat!

I mean Young's is probably the only ice cream place in town. You see Yellow Springs is a small town. Literally think Gilmore Girls style. Everyone knows everyone. I kid you not I didn't even grow up there (my mother did) but people will still randomly stop me on the street and say "are you so and so's daughter?" It is so weird. So like I said, this ice cream place is the place to be. My mother even worked there as a kid, for under minimum wage might I add. Let me tell you, nothing has changed since then except for the fact that the ice cream is no longer made directly on sight, but no one cares because it is still super yummy!)

More goats
This baby cow was seriously the sweetest!
There are all sorts of fun things to do while you are there from feeding the goats, to petting the new borns in the petting zoo! They also have mini golf, a baseball field and much more. Can you see why I enjoy going. I mean I am 19 and still get excited to go pet the baby goats!

Not a happy camper
So that was my weekend. I always enjoy going back there, I love small towns! Are there any places you guys can't get enough of? Ps: This is the face the dog made when she figured out that I was going out for a few hours. She is too funny, I just had to share!

Shopping!

Ah I love to shop. Seriously ask any of my friends, I am a certified shop-a-holic. If you need a shopping partner in crime, I am your girl. I love all sorts of shopping but I must say online shopping seems to be one of my favourites. I mean who doesn't love getting packages in the mail?! Here are some fun things I have ordered/ picked up in the past couple of weeks! I love them all and can't wait to wear them somewhere special!

BCBG
I bought this dress for going out purposes! I figure I could pair it with a nice blazer to dress it up, or wear it as is for a fun night out! It reminds me of an Herve Leger dress!

Lilly Shift
I found this gem on Saks! I am in love with the print and the alligators are to die for! My friends are having a tea party at the end of July and I am thinking of wearing this to that!

I got this shirt from the Jcrew outlets! It goes perfectly with white jeans or white shorts! I am loving stripes this season

Lilly Pulitzer blossom shorts
I got these blossom shorts in seersucker mainly because I just couldn't pass them up! I mean honestly, how cute are these? They look red in this picture because of the lighting but the lines are light pink!  I accidentally ordered them a size too big, but couldn't bear to send them back, so I took them to the tailor and now they fit perfectly!
Jcrew
I needed a pair of white chinos so of course J crew was the place to go.

I spied this while waiting in line to purchase my white chinos! I like the floral detail on the front and the baby blue colour is so fun for summer. I can't wait to wear it!

Vineyard Vines
Last but not least I ordered a pair of Vineyard Vines boxers! I know this may sound weird but I love to sleep in them. They are so comfy. Now don't get me wrong I have plenty of pajama sets (Lilly and RL are two of my fav) but sometimes I would rather just wear these and a hanes v neck (much to my mother's dismay)

Do you have any fun goodies that you've picked up recently?

Happy Birthday America!

Ah did you guys have fun yesterday, because I sure did! The fourth of July is one of my favourite holidays! I love all of the festive food, the good company and of course the fireworks!

Yay! Pool Time!
My friends and I had a cookout at my friend jKm's house! It is huge so we always go over there for occasions like this! We all had fun swimming in the pool, lounging around in the Jacuzzi and of course grilling out!

What's the fourth without a couple of selfies?
I am still new to this whole blogging thing so I definitely could have taken more pictures but for our next event I will be sure to capture everything! We made tons of food and we even tried out this pinterest recipe! Don't the strawberries look delicious?

Yum!
They are so much harder to make than it seems. The chocolate goes everywhere and placing the sprinkles neatly on the strawberries is nearly impossible (I was coated in sprinkles at the end of the process!) Although I must say my one of my friend (refer to selfie above) made a batch before she came (as a surprise) and they were pretty perfect!

Giggles Galore
After dinner we went to watch the fireworks! jKm has a convertible so we didn't even have to get out of the car. We had a first class view right from our seats! Which was good because it was really crowded and I wasn't exactly dying to get out and stand in the crowd.

So Pretty!
So that was my fourth of July! Did you guys do anything fun? I am sorry again for not taking as many pictures as I should have, I just got caught up in all the fun! But no worries, there are plenty of fun things coming up in my schedule so I will be sure to document those!
